SEO
Get found, without the guesswork — or the backlinks.
Most SEO agencies sell link-building schemes and vague monthly reports. We do the two things that actually move rankings — fixing what's broken on your site, and writing content people are already searching for.
SEO Audit
For an existing site
A full technical and content review — what's blocking Google (and AI answer engines) from ranking you, in priority order.
- — Crawlability, page speed, schema and meta review
- — Mobile and Core Web Vitals check
- — AI-crawlability review — llms.txt, structured data
- — Real Search Console query data where access is available, not guesswork
- — A written report with a prioritised fix list
New Site, Built Right
Add-on to a new design
Every new site we build gets the technical SEO foundation most agencies charge extra for later, after something is already missing.
- — Schema markup, sitemap and robots.txt from day one
- — Semantic HTML and meta templates built in
- — Search Console and Analytics set up before launch
- — An initial content plan based on real search demand for your area
Ongoing SEO
Monthly retainer
Content, not links. Each month, one piece of content targeting a real, researched gap — plus a plain-English report on what moved.
- — One piece of content a month, based on real search demand
- — A plain-English monthly report — what moved, what we published, what's next
- — Quarterly technical recheck
- — No link-building, ever
Why no backlinks
The part of SEO we won't sell you.
Link-building is the part of SEO that gets outsourced to link farms and can tank a site when Google notices. We don't offer it — not because it never works, but because doing it safely isn't something one small studio can responsibly resell at agency prices. Everything we do sits on your own site, under your control, not on other people's.
FAQ
Common questions
Do you build backlinks?
No. Link-building is the part of SEO most likely to get a site penalised when it's done badly, and doing it safely isn't something one small studio can responsibly resell at agency prices. Everything we do sits on your own site, under your control — not on other people's.
What's the difference between the audit and the ongoing retainer?
The audit is a one-off: a written report and fix list for a site that already exists. The retainer is ongoing: ourselves writing content and tracking rankings, month after month. Most people start with an audit to see where they stand, then decide whether ongoing work is worth it.
Do I need a new site to get the SEO add-on?
No — that tier is specifically for sites we're building from scratch, where getting the technical foundation right from day one is cheap. If your site already exists, the audit is the right starting point instead. See our web design packages for build prices.
How do you decide what content to write?
From real Google Search Console data — what people are actually searching for and where your site currently ranks — not a generic content calendar. If there's no genuine demand for a topic, we say so instead of writing it anyway.
Will this help with AI search — ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews?
It's part of every tier. Clean structured data (schema.org, JSON-LD), an llms.txt file, and content written to actually answer a question are the same things that help AI systems cite and summarise a site correctly — not a separate service bolted on top.
What does this actually cost?
It depends on how much work is involved — a quick audit is a very different job from ongoing content and reporting. Get in touch with a bit about your site and what you're trying to achieve, and we'll give you a straight quote. See our SEO cost guide for the rough ranges New Zealand businesses typically pay.
Do I need a hosting plan too?
No — SEO work runs independently of who hosts your site. If you'd rather not deal with hosting, updates, and security yourself, take a look at our hosting plans.
